Sunday Socials is a welcoming, community-driven, gathering designed to foster connection, support, and shared experiences among families in Greater Portland. Rooted in reciprocity and a spirit of generosity, our gatherings create space for meaningful relationships while giving back to the broader community.
Regular Gatherings: We meet every other Sunday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 AM in a low-cost (or free), public space—outdoors at rotating Park in summer and indoors at Riverton Community Center from fall to spring. Based on interest, we may shift to a weekly cadence in the future.
Reciprocity & Support: Members take turns providing snacks, tools, resources, recommendations, and information, ensuring that everyone has something to offer and receive.
Community Giving: Together, we choose organizations to support through monetary contributions or acts of service—because strengthening our community starts with lending a helping hand.
A Safe Space for Kids: Children are free to play and explore in a tech-free, unstructured environment, giving them space for creativity and connection.
We don’t expect attendance every week, but with many families involved, we trust that there will always be a solid group present. Each gathering includes:
Unstructured conversation for adults to share ideas, thoughts, and community news.
Kids' Corner, a designated space for play, creativity, and friendship.
Rotating programming such as:
Community service projects
Plant, clothing, or household item swaps
Fix-It Café sessions where people share skills to repair items
Sunday Socials operates on a sliding-scale membership, starting at $10 per month per family. If you're able and want to contribute more, your generosity helps sustain our shared space and activities.
Each week, you'll find food, coffee, music, and fun play activities that encourage connection and creativity. More than just a gathering, Sunday Socials is a movement toward meaningful community.
